Moving us is just one tiny example, but that's what he has done most recently. Single handedly.

Moving Day
So, my words will never appropriately convey the hero that my dad is. It would be one thing if I were the only one that thought so, but I'm certain that my dad has been likened to a super hero on many different occasions by many different people. There are many dozens of people who have benefitted from his ability to fix and build anything (anything!). For example, an air conditioner or a ceiling fan. In Texas this takes you to immediate hero-dom. He'll buy a stranger's gas or groceries with a handshake, grin and slap on the back if they're in a pinch. He'll rescue stray animals even at the risk of rabies. You can count on him to keep the neighborhood safer, I've seen him authoritatively point that 357 a couple of times and with his bare hands bring someone three times his size to their knees. He's been known to take neighborhood kids in need of a little leadership under his perfect wing and teach them how to throw a fast ball, shoot a hook shot, or pop a wheeley. He's good with kids, teenagers, grown folks, a-holes, old people and animals. He'll buy your drinks, get you out of a bind, play with your baby, have your back, and give you thoughtful advice. He'll give a hiney pop if you need it and a lick even if you don't. And he's my dad. All of that stuff he would do for a stranger so you can imagine the mountains that he climbs for his wife, me, my husband, and our babies. It's down right excessive.
He spent the night on an airport floor due to a delay and showed up to MN to drive our UHaul back to TX. We had the truck waiting for him.
See you at Scrimshaw!
Unloading with our family, the Nixons, who have been over the top, generous, amazing in this process as well.
Teamwork. Thirty years (plus?) worth of team work. THANK YOU will never be enough!!!!! Since he's been back, Dad, Mom and the Nixons have trimmed trees, spread mulch, built a rock path for the kids, got the internet and cable hooked up, painted a couple of rooms, cleaned, unpacked, used a chain saw on a pole for God's sake, and I'm sure a million other things I don't know about yet. And, all I can say is thank you. A shame, isn't it?!
